Cultural Process Approach

Cultural Process Approach

How are innovations (known as ideas, products and practices as new by the individual) spread to members of the social system? The authors answer these and other questions about the nature of innovators, the rate of adoption of ideas and the decision-making process in 103 generalizations on diffusion of innovation. These proposals are compiled from more than 1500 publications that address the communication of innovations. The new ideas they studied range from tractors in Turkey, family planning techniques to Hindu housewives, and modern mathematics among Pennsylvania teachers. The book is an update of the 1962 edition, which focuses on intercultural perspectives, concepts and theories in communication and social psychology. An extensive bibliography of about 1,200 experimental reports and about 300 non-experimental reports is attached.
